What are food companies going to do once they’re done celebrating America’s 250th birthday? The semiquincentennial has been a massive source of inspiration when it comes to releasing limited editions and specially packaged versions of everything from candy to chips to sparkling juice.
For PepsiCo, this summer of food-based patriotism is the perfect moment to release the Mountain Dew America Variety Pack. (Read more)

With America hosting this year’s World Cup, it’s no surprise that one of the most iconic symbols of the United States has also partnered with FIFA for a meal celebrating the worldwide soccer tournament.
It’s time to kick things off with McDonald’s’s FIFA World Cup Meal. (Read more)

I’ve never been a ketchup guy when it comes to dipping my fries. If I’m at McDonald’s or Wendy’s, those fries shouldn’t need the flavor boost that comes from coating them in the classic condiment. But if I’m at a restaurant or brewery that offers an elevated fry-dipping sauce, I’ll absolutely dunk french fry after french fry into whatever mayo-based sauce they’ve whipped up.

This is where GoGo squeeZ comes in, with the company releasing GOGO Dairy Protein and GOGO Fruit Smoothie Protein last month. The two new varieties of GOGO squeezable pouches boast between 8g and 10g of protein in addition to real fruit and milk. (Read more)

Steven Spielberg wants to know the truth. And he believes that there is a truth to be revealed.
Disclosure Day is the culmination of decades of Spielberg making movies about aliens. Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, War of the Worlds, even Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — all of these films were leading up to the director’s latest film. With the Wayans family back on board for the first time since 2001’s Scary Movie 2, this Scary Movie (I’m begging studios to stop reusing titles when they’re not actually rebooting a series) opened with a $55 million weekend, beating the previous franchise high of $48.1 million set by Scary Movie 3 in 2003. Was this the final episode of The Rundown? It certainly seems like it, with Kenan Thompson picking a live sketch before standing back to admire the collection of SNL sketches that the digital series has assembled into an all-star episode since March. (Read more)
