A prebiotic soda that’s also a dirty soda? Or a dirty soda that’s also a prebiotic soda?
A quick review of Slice Dirty Soda, with a bonus review of Good & Gather Prebiotic Soda.
The fast food chain offers a very tasty take on the classic sauce, featuring it in the McCrispy Sandwich and Snack Wrap.
Ever since the return of Big Mac Sauce as a dipping option for McNuggets and McCrispy Strips, I’ve been exclusively going with that limited-edition option whenever I’ve visited McDonald’s. But now the chain is rolling out a new contender: Caesar Sauce.
“The math is mathing for McDonald’s latest craveable addition,” McDonald’s wrote in the company’s announcement of the upcoming menu. “Meet McDonald’s Caesar Sauce — a creamy, garlicky parmesan blend infused with notes of lemon that’s giving fan-favorite chicken items a glow-up this summer.”
Like with many of the restaurant’s limited-edition sauces — Hot Honey, Buffalo Ranch, Special Edition Gold — McDonald’s is offering versions of two of its chicken-based menu items crafted around the new condiment. For this release, the Bacon Caesar McCrispy Sandwich and Caesar Snack Wrap are the two highlights.
The Caesar Sauce menu officially goes live on July 21, but there’s a good chance your McDonald’s is already offering these items through the app.
OK, we should probably address the elephant in the room. A cyclosporiasis outbreak is sweeping the nation. If you don’t already know the “explosive” symptoms of this outbreak, I’ll give you a moment to google them. Unfortunately, we’re not sure where the outbreak began or what food is spreading the cyclospora parasite, but lettuce is one of the prime suspects.
I ordered both the Bacon Caesar McCrispy Sandwich and the Caesar Snack Wrap without lettuce to be on the safe side. Not that I’m saying there’s any issue with McDonald’s produce. I hate that Taco Bell is being set up as the scapegoat for this outbreak too.
Anyway, who wants to eat some fast food?

At my McDonald’s, the Bacon Caesar McCrispy Sandwich was $8.99, the Caesar Snack Wrap was $3.89 and each Caesar Dip Cup was 35 cents.

I love a McCrispy Sandwich. I don’t think McDonald’s take on a premium chicken sandwich is in the same league as the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich that kickstarted this craze, but it’s easily one of the best items on the McDonald’s menu. I’m rarely disappointed by this sandwich, and the Bacon Caesar McCrispy Sandwich was no exception.

I honestly didn’t miss the lettuce in this case. Its absence let the crispy bacon and onions shine, and along with pickles, tomato and the Caesar Sauce, there was plenty of flavor in this sandwich.

But there could have been more flavor! Luckily I added two extra Caesar Dip Cups to my order, allowing me the ability to slather my sandwich with extra sauce.

There’s not much to a McDonald’s Snack Wrap, so skipping the lettuce left me with a lone McCrispy Strip, shredded cheese and Caesar Sauce.
And you know what? This was the best of any of the Snack Wraps I’ve tried since the chain brought them back on its menu a year ago.

Screw you, lettuce! You’re apparently just weighing the Snack Wrap down. It probably also helps that not only was my Caesar Snack Wrap properly sauced when I got it, I proceeded to dunk the wrap multiple times in one of my spare Caesar Dip Cups.

As someone who eats a chicken Caesar salad for lunch several times a week, I can honestly say that McDonald’s nailed its take on the classic dressing. It promised “a creamy, garlicky parmesan blend infused with notes of lemon,” and its Caesar Sauce delivers on that promise.
The mystery of whether or not I actually tried the revamped McCrispy Strips last week thickens. The chicken tender in my Caesar Snack Wrap had a much fuller coating of “new panko-coating breading” compared to the McCrispy Strips I last purchased. This order came from a different location — was I really served defunct McCrispy Strips last week?
