Archer Sweet BBQ Beef Mini Sticks. / Snackology
I hope Snackology readers fully realize how excited I am as the so-called Meatology section of the newsletter expands. Just a few months ago, I was joking with a colleague about getting some bacon to review, and now here I am reviewing a second wave of meat sticks.
Archer announced a massive expansion last month, adding new flavors, new sizes and a new shelf presence at Target. Part of the expansion included the Sweet BBQ Beef Mini Sticks.
“Archer was built on a simple idea: real ingredients, real protein, nothing you can’t pronounce,” Archer said in the company’s announcement. “The fact that we’re now in more than 30,000 doors — and growing more than three times the category — tells us consumers have been waiting for this.”
The Sweet BBQ Beef Mini Sticks definitely lean on the sweet side of a BBQ flavor, while also delivering the taste and texture that has made beef a standard meat stick flavor.
Archer Oven-Roasted Chicken Mini Sticks. / Snackology
The Oven-Roasted Chicken Mini Sticks are a safer flavor. Not bland exactly, but in addition to chicken offering a milder taste than beef, the oven-roasted flavor comes across as comforting, yet you want a bit more from it.
