If you grew up in the 1990s, you know A.1. Sauce. Your household probably had the classic condiments: Ketchup, mustard, maybe relish. And then there was a likely a jar of A.1. Sauce that belonged to your dad. And if you were feeling bold, you’d add some A.1. to your steak or even your rice.
Thanks to Vermont Smoke & Cure, you can now get that iconic A.1. flavor in a beef stick. I assumed this was going to be kitschy — do people still use A.1. Sauce in 2026? — but just catching a hint of that iconic A.1. smell in this beef stick brought me back to my childhood. Vermont didn’t go overboard on this one, and the partnership succeeds in the goal of delivering “signature steakhouse flavors in a convenient, on-the-go format.”

While A.1. Sauce played a pivotal role in my childhood, I was unfamiliar with Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce before this ... which is wild since the company, based out of Worcester, England, is apparently the inventor of the impossible-to-pronounce Worcestershire sauce. Or at least gave the sauce its name.
To be honest, I didn’t find much of a difference between the Lea & Perrins and A.1. varieties of these Vermont beef sticks. The Worcestershire version is also good, but it doesn’t have that “bold, tangy depth” that comes with A.1. Sauce.
