Spring Sprinkles elevates the Reese’s Big Cup to an even higher level

We’ve just wrapped up the holidays. It’s January. Maybe you have snow if you live somewhere that hasn’t succumbed to climate change. But in the world of Reese’s Cups, it’s already spring.

I knew that Reese’s Spring Sprinkles were in the pipeline, but I figured I’d find them much closer to Easter. I was pleasantly surprised to run across them while we were heading back to Virginia after our New Year’s visit to Rochester.

This variation of the classic Reese’s Cups appears to be available in both Miniature Cups and, most importantly, Big Cups. I don’t think you can go wrong with a Reese’s Big Cup, so I’m thrilled that it was the Reese’s Spring Sprinkles Big Cup that I found during our travels.

Where I found it

This was another Sheetz discovery. I’ve mentioned this before, but gas stations are often your best bet when it comes to finding a new candy release. (After writing this review, I later found a 9.3 oz bag of the miniature size version of the Spring Sprinkles at CVS.)

What I paid

Two Big Cups for $3.19. (That bag of miniatures cost $6.79.)

My thoughts

When I reviewed Reese’s Sugar Cookie Peanut Butter Cups in November, I immediately mentioned that I wished I had found them in Big Cups format. While I gave the Miniature Cup version a pass, I later found the Big Cup version — and I was right to have guessed that the Sugar Cookie version of a Reese’s Cup would be great as a Big Cup.

The Spring Sprinkles Big Cup was an instant hit for me.

A perfect ratio of peanut butter to candy crunch. I loved the texture the eggs and chicks added to the Big Cups format. While some candies rely on artificial tricks to mimic certain flavors (I’m looking at you, PB&J M&Ms), Reese’s Cups don’t mess around when it comes to these mix-ins. When you bite into a Spring Sprinkles Big Cup, you’re gonna get Spring Sprinkles. Red, blue and green eggs. Yellow chicks.

The Spring Sprinkles Reese’s Cups in the miniature size were also pretty great, but they weren’t as magical as the Big Cup version.

Final verdict: BUY

I feel like I should write more about the Reese’s Spring Sprinkles Big Cups, but we’re talking about perfection here, folks. The Reese’s Big Cups is already a S-tier candy, and it’s unrivaled when it comes to serving as a delivery system for add-ins like Reese’s Puffs, pretzels and now candy sprinkles.
