The trendy olive oil company is now making trendy potato chips
If you already have Graza’s olive oil and mayo in your kitchen, it’s probably time to add their four flavors of potato chips to your home too.

Based on the fact that you’re reading Snackology, I’m already going to assume that you know that I’m a sucker for pretty much any marketing trick companies throw at us to sell food. One of those tricks that’ll pretty much always pull me in? Putting a cute cartoon character on a label or package.
Cute cartoon characters have led to me to pick up Gleezy Carolina Dog Sauce and fall in love with Local Style Potato Chips. They’re also what convinced me to replace the olive oil in our kitchen with Graza. The company’s delightful labels are why we now have Sizzle and Drizzle on our counter and a bottle of their Fancy Mayo in the fridge. (I’m honestly not sure why my wife lets me do the grocery shopping. I think it’s because I’m really good with coupons and sales.)
Graza Homestyle Potato Chips went live this month, with four flavors hitting Target shelves. The four flavors in the initial lineup range from traditional (Classic Sea Salt and Sea Salt & Vinegar) to a twist on a classic (Hot ’N Sweet) to wildly innovative (Zesty Caesar).
OK, no better time than the present to add four more open bags of chips to our cupboard ...

I paid $5.49 for each 5.5 oz. bag at Target, but Graza lists its Homestyle Potato Chips at $5.99 on its own website.

The foundation for all four flavors of Graza Homestyle Potato Chips are “delightfully crispy potato chips made with special yellow skin, yellow flesh potatoes cooked in 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil.” This choice is obvious the second you open any bag. Graza isn’t kidding when they say they use “yellow flesh potatoes.” That move leads to a more potato-y potato chip.
I found the salt level of the Classic Sea Salt potato chips to be pretty fair. My first impression was that they actually could’ve used more salt, but there’s a bit of a delay to how quickly the saltiness kicks in.

Historically, I’m not a salt and vinegar guy when it comes to chips. But Graza’s take on the classic flavor really works for me. The company’s use of “red wine vinegar seasoning (made from real red wine vinegar!)” might be the difference? Or maybe it’s just that I’ve been conditioning myself on Lay’s All Dressed now that they’re available in America.

Beware of Graza’s Hot ’N Sweet chips! They’re super tasty, but they’re also super hot. And I’m not talking “Flamin’ Hot Cheetos hot.” Graza used “our signature Datil Chile Pepper spice blend” to kick up the spice levels on these chips. If you’re looking for a flavor that’s closer to a hot honey mix of sweet and heat, you should skip Graza’s take on a hot chip. In fairness, the company does warn that these chips are “mostly hot [and] a little bit sweet.”

Buy these chips. BUY THESE CHIPS. Seriously. There’s nothing I love better than picking up a new snack for Snackology and being completely surprised by how wonderful it is. What Graza did with its Zesty Caesar chips is simple. Maybe another chip company has thought of adding a “bold [and] zesty ‘Caesar’ spice blend” to a bag of potato chips before, but this is the first time I’ve encountered the flavor.
They’re perfect.
After trying each flavor for this review, I returned to the Zesty Caesar bag and brought it to the couch while I watched TV. Very little remained in the bag when I was done.
