I bought the new Popeyes Honey Chicken Biscuit. They forgot the honey.
I can only imagine what the fast-food chain’s newest chicken innovation would taste like if it weren’t missing this key ingredient.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Popeyes launched the modern era of chicken sandwiches available at fast-food chains across the country. When that sandwich went viral, those long lines and sold-out stores forced every other fast-food restaurant to rethink its chicken sandwiches.
Popeyes is trying to recapture that magic with the Honey Chicken Biscuit.
The chain has taken the hand-battered chicken that made its Classic Chicken Sandwich famous, put it between an upscaled version of the Popeyes buttermilk biscuit and served the entire thing with two packets of sweet honey sauce. There’s also the Honey Chicken Biscuit with Bacon and Cheese, which adds, well, bacon and cheese.
“At Popeyes, quality and bold flavor guide everything we do, and we’re always looking for new ways to bring our most iconic items together,” Matt Rubin, Popeyes chief marketing officer, said in the company’s announcement. “The Honey Chicken Biscuit is exactly that: Our craveable chicken, our iconic buttermilk biscuit and sweet honey sauce, crafted into one new sandwich. It’s simple, it’s unmistakably Popeyes, and it shows the kind of culinary care that turns flavors people already love into something entirely new.”
It’s been too long since I’ve visited Popeyes, so I swung by on Thursday to pick up both versions of the Honey Chicken Biscuit. The sandwiches looked and smelled fantastic.
There was just one problem.
They forgot the sweet honey packets.
The Honey Chicken Biscuit is $5, and the Honey Chicken Biscuit with Bacon and Cheese is $6.70.

Not having the two sweet honey packets that are supposed to come with each Honey Chicken Biscuit was a problem. For the standard sandwich, there are just three elements: Honey. Chicken. Biscuit.
I was missing a third of the ingredients.
