Oreo Cakesters are back, and they’re better than ever

The Oreo snack cakes apparently weren’t soft enough for some of you, so Nabisco is rolling out a brand new recipe.

Oreo Cakesters Original, Golden and Double Chocolate

Despite my love of Oreo cookies (a love that is well-documented on Snackology), I had gone my entire life without eating an Oreo Cakester until December’s Oreopalooza.

The Confetti Cake Oreo Cakester blew my mind. I called that flavor of the snack cake “incredibly good. Dangerously good.” For Oreo, though, Cakesters weren’t good enough.

The company announced in April that it was rolling out a new recipe for the Oreo Cakesters line, promising a new version that would make “them their softest, most delicious snack cakes yet.” The new recipe, at the moment, only affects the Original, Golden and Double Chocolate flavors of Oreo Cakesters. The thoughts

I’m not sure who was complaining about Oreo Cakesters to kick off this new recipe. If you ever wanted an Oreo in a soft, fluffy snack cake format, this treat was already checking off all those boxes.

But I guess this trio of Oreo Cakesters is softer? I think they’re just as delicious as they always have been. My favorite would be the classic Original flavor (Nabisco really nailed the flavor of a chocolate cookie), with Golden being close behind.

It might be sacrilege, but can I say that the Double Chocolate version is too much chocolate? The creme is a huge part of what makes an Oreo an Oreo. But I wouldn’t say no to any of these flavors.
