A quick review of the artisan brand’s newest ‘seriously craveable’ snack.

The Force is with this edition of Snack Chat. Burger King announced last week that it’ll launch an entire menu inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 4. The first Star Wars movie in seven years hits theaters in late May, and Burger King has gone all out for this one.
The menu includes fun items like the BBQ Bounty Whopper, Imperial Cheddar Ranch Tots, Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake and Grogu’s Garlic Chicken Fries. I’m pretty sure that last item is just a bunch of chicken fries seasoned in a way that Grogu would enjoy ... not chicken fries made from Grogu.
“Star Wars has shaped generations of fans, and as we head into the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, we saw an opportunity to bring that excitement straight into our restaurants,” Joel Yashinsky, chief marketing officer of Burger King, said in the company’s announcement of the promotion. “From themed packaging to bold, flavor-forward menu items, this is our way of celebrating an iconic new film with the iconic flame-grilled taste only Burger King can deliver.”
While I’m still doubtful that The Mandalorian and Grogu is going to be any good or that Lucasfilm didn’t just rework a season of The Mandalorian to finally get a Star Wars movie into theaters, it’s fun to see a fast food chain go all out like this for a new Star Wars project. If you grew up up back in the days of the Special Editions and Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, you’ll recall that there was a time when it was exciting to see Star Wars cross promotion like this.
Burger King isn’t the only brand getting in on The Mandalorian and Grogu. The limited-edition Grogu Nilla Nummies add an alien hue to the classic Nilla Wafers.
