Does Wendy’s ‘reimagined’ Spicy Chicken Sandwich keep up with the flock?
A quick review of the upgraded version of what was likely the first fast food spicy chicken sandwich you ever ate.
Blue raspberry gummy bears? Amazing. The addition of cotton candy bits? Genius. Oh, and I bought three other bags of seasonal gummies.
Here at Snackology, I usually stick to brand names when it comes to reviewing new items. You’ll probably never see me writing up my thoughts on a new flavor of Great Value Mountain Lightning. But I’m making an exception for this summer’s lineup of Favorite Day gummies at Target.
While I was recently browsing the seasonal section at Target, the bags of Blue Raspberry Crunch Coated Bears snagged my attention. Sure, I thought. You can go into the cart.
That bag of gummy bears was gone within a day.
I pulled up Target’s website to see what other seasonal gummies might be worth a purchase. After instantly adding another bag of the Blue Raspberry Gummy Bears to my shopping cart, I also selected Sour Mini Peach Rings Gummy Candy, Sour Pineapple Gummy Candy and Sour Summer Pops Gummy Candy.
Would these limited-edition Target gummies live up to the insanely good Blue Raspberry Gummy Bears?

Each bag of Favorite Day gummies was $4.

I’m still kind of shocked that these gummies are just casually hanging out in Target’s seasonal section under their store brand. Blue raspberry gummy bears? Amazing. The addition of crunchy cotton candy-flavored candy bits? Genius. Target needs to promote whoever came up with this candy.
I’m going to order as many bags of Blue Raspberry Crunch Coated Bears as Target’s website will let me. These gummies are a hall-of-fame candy. I dare you to buy a bag and not finish it within 24 hours.

Peach rings are one of our family’s go-to car snacks. A stop at Sheetz while driving to or from Rochester usually includes the purchase of a bag of them. (Sheetz brand peach rings are my favorite kind.) A brand would have to try pretty hard to screw up peach rings.
Favorite Day understood the assignment, delivering peach rings that are a touch smaller than what I’m used to with Sheetz’s take. They’re a bit denser than your average peach ring, but the chew is good and the sour level is balanced.

I’m impressed by how well Target’s Sour Pineapple Gummy Candy nails its bright pineapple flavor. This candy is more sweet than it is sour, with that burst of pineapple taste lingering after each bite.
Sour Pineapple Gummy Candy are softer than Target’s peach rings too.

Of the Favorite Day gummies that I purchased, Sour Summer Pops Gummy Candy are my least favorite. The biggest problem is their gummy texture. Every time I ate one, I found myself chewing ... and chewing ... and chewing ...
I’m not sure why they aren’t in the same range of gumminess as the other three bags of candy that I purchased for this review. What makes the texture even worse is that the popsicle-shaped gummies are too big. If they were like half their size, maybe the texture wouldn’t be as noticeable.
I’m gonna go order some more Blue Raspberry Crunch Coated Bears now.
