Thanks to Reese’s Puffs PB+J, peanut butter and jelly isn’t just for lunch

There are few more iconic lunch duos than peanut butter and jelly. (Not now, ham and cheese.) What if that duo made the jump to breakfast?

That’s the goal with Reese’s Puffs PB+J, a limited-edition spin on Reese’s Puffs cereal.

“Perhaps the only flavor pairing that stands up as well as peanut butter and chocolate is peanut butter and jelly, so we figured it was time to combine all three in one epic bowl of Reese’s Puffs cereal,” General Mills’s Megan Brooks said in the company’s announcement. “After seeing fans eat up the Reese’s PB+J Cups, we knew that beloved combination deserved a place in the cereal aisle too.”

Yes, those Reese’s PB+J Cups are big. (Especially when they’re a Reese’s Big Cup.) After first making their debut in 2015, Reese’s ditched the grape variant when the candy came back this past spring. The response to Reese’s PB+J Cups was enthusiastic enough to convince General Mills to give this flavor a shot in cereal form.

We also got Reese’s Marshmallow Peanut Butter Cups alongside Reese’s PB+J Cups earlier this year. General Mills very much needs to turn that flavor into a cereal too.

The cost

While Reese’s Puffs PB+J is a limited-edition cereal, it’s allegedly available nationwide. But since the cereal was announced in August, I haven’t seen it in the wild. (General Mills sent Snackology this box for a review.) I’d imagine a box of Reese’s Puffs PB+J is priced at whatever you’d expect a normal box of Reese’s Puffs to cost.

I’ve purchased a Reese’s PB+J Cup on several occasions since reviewing them earlier this year, so I was intrigued when General Mills announced that a Reese’s Puffs variant inspired by that candy was on the way.
