The most American way to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday? A bag of Doritos Ultimate Garlic Parm.
A quick review of the new flavor that’s being called ‘fuel for disruption.’
I’m not an expert on BTS, but I can confirm that the South Korean boy band has delivered a delicious treat with this purple Oreo.
Peanuts’ Lucy van Pelt was onto something when she asked Schroeder if Ludwig van Beethoven, his hero, had ever been featured on a bubblegum card. I mean, if you hadn’t been featured on a bubblegum card, had you really made it?
Lucy was on to something with that theory, a theory I think you can also apply to Oreo cookies. In 2026, have you really made it if you haven’t yet gotten your own Oreo flavor?
BTS, the superstar South Korean boy band, can now say they’ve officially made it. Oreo announced this week that Limited Edition Oreo & BTS Cookies, a new limited-edition flavor, is on the way.
“For OREO to be the first snacking brand we’ve collaborated with globally is a huge honor. We ate them as kids, we eat them in the studio, and now OREO is helping us share a taste of home with the world,” BTS said in Oreo’s announcement. “We’re just so proud to add our own chapter to Oreo’s amazing story.”
BTS joins Lady Gaga, Post Malone and Selena Gomez as music icons who have been honored with their own variety of the classic sandwich cookie.

I haven’t seen a price yet, but Limited Edition Oreo & BTS Cookies officially go on sale on June 1. You’ll be able to find them on Oreo’s website.

When I first saw that Limited Edition Oreo & BTS Cookies were purple, I immediately assumed they were ube flavored. I mean, ube is all the rage right now. (I can’t stop buying packages of King’s Hawaiian Ube Coconut Rolls.) But they’re actually “a hotteok-inspired brown sugar-pancake flavor,” with Oreo confirming that this is the first time there’s ever been a purple Oreo.
These cookies are fantastic. The pancake flavor has the perfect level of sugary sweetness to it, reminding me — in the best way — of the warmth you get from biting into a McGriddle at McDonald’s.
Despite the purple color, I’m pretty sure that the cookie wafers are just a normal golden Oreo. The packaging and information about Limited Edition Oreo & BTS Cookies only highlight how the creme “remixes the flavors of hotteok, a warm, brown sugar-stuffed pancake popular in Korean street food markets.”
Like with the recent Marvel Oreos — both Legends and Doom — Limited Edition Oreo & BTS Cookies come with a ton of designs, featuring 13 different cookie wafers in honor of BTS’s thirteenth anniversary.
Limited Edition Oreo & BTS Cookies were provided to Snackology for this independent review.
