Oreo has a date with doom ... Doctor Doom!
The final package of the Marvel/Oreo crossover has been revealed — and one of comics’ greatest villains has the pack all to himself.
The final package of the Marvel/Oreo crossover has been revealed — and one of comics’ greatest villains has the pack all to himself.
Like any good story, the rollout of the Marvel Oreo Stuf of Legends Cookies ended on a cliffhanger. Only three of the four collectible packs were revealed last month — what had happened to that fourth pack? And who would be featured on it?
It turns out that final pack had a date with doom. Doctor Doom.
Marvel’s great heroes — and our tastebuds — must now confront the might of Marvel Oreo Stuf of Doom Cookies.
“With the Marvel Oreo Stuf of Doom Cookies, we’re bringing an exciting and interactive finale to the fan-focused journey we started with the launch of the Marvel Oreo Stuf of Legends Cookies,” Oreo Vice President Matt Foley said in the announcement of the fourth pack. “We marked the final chapter in our most ambitious collaboration yet by handing the story over to the fans. By blending the Oreo brand’s playful nature with Marvel’s legendary storytelling, our interactive experience made fans the heroes, setting a new standard for how brands can create cultural moments with passionate fandoms.”
Gotta love the synergy here. While both Marvel Oreo Stuf of Legends Cookies and Marvel Oreo Stuf of Doom Cookies feature characters drawn by Marvel Comics artist Todd Nauck instead of shot of the characters from the MCU movies, it’s pretty convenient that Doctor Doom is already popping up in major promotional campaigns like this with Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon this winter ...

I didn’t have a price to go from when I wrote up this review, but Marvel Oreo Stuf of Doom Cookies go on presale today on OREO.com/UnwrapTheCollab. The Stuf of Legends cookies were available at normal Oreo prices when they went live.

In case you’re asking why there’s a Thanos action figure featured in the photos of this review instead of, well, a Doctor Doom action figure, the very simple answer is that I just don’t own a Doctor Doom action figure. I briefly looked into picking up the Marvel Legends figure of the Infamous Iron Man since a version of Doom that became Iron Man seemed appropriate considering that longtime Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doom in Doomsday, but those figures are already pretty pricey on the secondary market.
So you get Thanos. And he’s super ticked that he never got his own pack of Oreos.

Unlike the Marvel Oreo Stuf of Legends Cookies, which featured 32 different cookie designs, Marvel Oreo Stuf of Doom Cookies comes with a single design: Doom. He took over this pack, so he gets to have his face on every single Oreo cookie in it.

The Stuf of Doom cookies are filled with “a new Masked Decadence flavor with chocolate graham and toasted marshmallow-flavored creme.” There were definitely graham/marshmallow notes in this Oreo flavor, but nowhere near as extreme as S’mOreos. While the creme in the Stuf of Legends Oreos was supposed to turn your tongue blue, the creme in this final pack promises to make your tongue “Doom’s signature green.”
I found that it’s more black with some hints of green, which is probably even more terrifying. I’d advise not packing a few Marvel Oreo Stuf of Doom Cookies as part of your lunch for the office.

With the final pack of the Marvel/Oreo crossover now revealed, I gotta say that this was a super fun promotion. I love seeing the mix of Marvel characters who have been pop culture mainstays for a long time, ones that have only recently burst into our lives and ones that are about to find a whole new wave of fans thanks to upcoming movies.
