With Halloween fast approaching, Smile 2 and Terrifier 3 took the Nos. 1 and 3 spots at the box office this weekend. The second Smile film almost exactly nailed the debut weekend of its predecessor, opening in North America with an estimated $23 million. The first Smile movie debuted with $22.6 million in September 2022 on the way to a $105.9 million domestic haul.
Weekend gross: $10.1M
Total domestic gross: $101.7M

What a run for The Wild Robot. After opening at No. 1, the animated masterpiece has locked down the No. 2 spot the past two weekends, falling just 26 percent between its second and third weekends.
As we celebrate The Wild Robot cracking the $100 million mark in North America and inching just a few million away from the $200 million mark worldwide, it sounds like DreamWorks’ latest film might owe the horror movies sharing theaters with it for some of its box office success.
After distribution sources told The Hollywood Reporter last week that “teenagers and tweens bought tickets to that film and then sneaked into Terrifier 3,” THR is back this weekend with a hunch that The Wild Robot has been benefiting from people doing the same to get into Smile 2.
