The Minions long ago conquered pop culture. (And weird Facebook memes, but that’s another story.) I held out as long as I could, but my home has fallen. The combination of a new Minions movie and a four-year-old daughter threw open the gates.
Our daughter has watched the trailers for Minions & Monsters several times, has decided that it’ll be the second movie she sees in theaters (the first was Hoppers) and was super excited when I brought home the Minions & Monsters Meal from Wendy’s on Tuesday.
Wendy’s has fully given itself over to the Minions. In addition to the Minions & Monsters Meal, which is for adults, you can also get a Minions & Monsters Kids’ Meal. (Read more)

Is this really the first Taco Bell review that I’ve done in June? The fast food chain has been introducing new items and bringing back old favorites at a relentless pace in 2026, but the past few weeks have been quiet.
That changed this week when Steak Fajita Street Chalupas, Slow-Roasted Chicken Fajita Street Chalupas, Chicken Fajita Nacho Fries, the Enchirito and Cinnamon Sugar Churros all hit Taco Bell menus. (Read more)

I had to check my calendar to make sure we hadn’t missed National Smoothie Day, and — phew — there’s still time. The holiday, which this year falls on the same day as Father’s Day, is on June 21. So in addition to whatever gift certificate for a home improvement store you’ve purchased for your dad, you can throw in a few bottles of the newly released Naked Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie and Naked Blueberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie. Did I need another case of soda in our home? Definitely not. But when I saw the sun-themed boxes of 7UP Zero Sugar Endless Summer Mandarin Orange on display at our grocery store, I couldn’t pass this one up. I love crushing a Fanta Zero Sugar, and why shouldn’t 7UP’s latest seasonal flavor offer the same experience? (Read more)
With the Fourth of July less than a month away, we’ve lost control of special flavors and limited-edition packaging celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Hostess has two patriotic treats on the market right now. I’d totally eat one of the cupcakes right now. (Read more)

Avengers: Doomsday — the first Avengers movie since 2019 and Marvel Studios’ soft reboot of the MCU — comes out in half a year. The studio still hasn’t released an actual trailer for the movie. But Sony isn’t missing a beat when it comes to promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, dropping a new trailer for the next Tom Holland film in addition to putting tickets for the movie on sale on Wednesday.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is very likely going to blow away every box office performance we’ve so far seen in 2026. We’ve only gotten one $100M+ debut this year, with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie opening at $131.7 million. The bar is set very high for the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed Brand New Day, with Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $260.1 million debut still sitting at No. 2 on the all-time domestic opening weekend chart.
Will Brand New Day reignite the MCU box office spark? Or has that era truly passed us by? (Read more)

In a world of blockbusters that once routinely crushed the $100 million mark, it’s easy for a $44 million opening weekend to feel like a letdown. It’s been almost two decades since a Steven Spielberg film opened at that level, though, with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’s $100.1 million debut being the director’s first, last and only film to notch that accomplishment.
