With Super Bowl LIX consuming the nation’s attention this weekend (not like there’s anything else going on, right?), the animated Dog Man quietly scored another box office win during its second frame. The Dav Pilkey adaptation was the only film to break the $10 million mark this weekend.
When it comes to movies based on Pilkey characters, Dog Man continues to outperform Captain Underpants: The First Movie through two weekends, $54.1 million to $44.4 million.

2. Heart Eyes
Weekend gross: $8.5M
Total domestic gross: $8.5M

Percent drop: NA
Valentine’s Day came early at the box office, with Heart Eyes coming in second this weekend. The slasher film is the biggest release for director Josh Ruben, with his previous films either going to streaming (Scare Me) or getting a limited theatrical release (Werewolves Within).
