‘Chainsaw Man’ delivers another anime box office win

It’s been a big fall for anime movies at the North American box office. After Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle opened with a massive $70.6 million weekend last month, Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc snagged its own box office crown this weekend.

2. Black Phone 2

Weekend gross: $13M
Total domestic gross: $49.1M
Last weekend: 1st
Percent drop: 52

Through two weekends, Black Phone 2 continues to play slightly ahead of its predecessor. While The Black Phone opened with $23.6 million in 2022 before adding a $12.2 million second weekend for a $47.4 million haul at this point, the sequel scored a $13 million second weekend to bring its current total to $49.1 million.
