About The Omnicosm
Everything you need to know about Snackology, Popculturology and The Cold Open.
About The Omnicosm
The Omnicosm covers the things that make life fun. Snacks, pop culture, movies, TV shows and more. It’s the home of Snackology, Popculturology and The Cold Open, newsletters focused on those topics.
The Omnicosm traces its roots back to 2012 with the founding of Popculturology. After a hiatus that began in 2015, Popculturology returned as a newsletter in 2022. Snackology was launched in 2024, with both sites coming together under The Omnicosm in early 2025. The Cold Open joined Popculturology and Snackology as its own vertical in late 2025, spinning out from Popculturology. (The Cold Open began as Deep SNL Thoughts before it was rebranded.)
The Omnicosm’s mission is to bring readers news about their favorite things — whether it’s a new Star Wars movie, thoughts on the latest episode of SNL or a review of the latest culinary innovation at McDonald’s — directly into their inboxes.
Snackology is the home of reviews and news about fast food, candy, soda and more.

Bill Kuchman is founder and executive editor of The Omnicosm while also serving as editor in chief and author of Snackology, Popculturology and The Cold Open. Between those two ventures (and Twitter), he has written about pop culture — Star Wars, the MCU, How I Met Your Mother, SNL — for over a decade. He’s also written about SNL for POLITICO Magazine.

Reader praise
“For years, I loved being Bill’s coworker because I got to pick his brain on pop culture — everything from analyzing SNL’s guests to explaining Marvel’s strategy. I’m delighted that he’s sharing those insights.”
— Dan Diamond, The Washington Post
“A fun and irreverent look at pop culture with a focus on Star Wars, Legos and other nerdy stuff. Highly recommended.”
