Today is a historic moment in candy history. For the first time in a decade, the world has been gifted the first new innovation in Reese’s Pieces ... um ... technology?
Look, it’s a big day since Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookie are now available.
“Reese’s has always been known for its signature peanut butter and chocolate combination, and with this innovative product, we’re excited to give consumers a fresh way to experience it,” Reese’s senior brand manager Melissa Blette said in the company’s announcement. “Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookie delivers a perfect balance of our legendary peanut butter flavor with a sweet crunch, creating an entirely new shareable snacking experience for the fan-favorite candy.”
Snackology is no stranger to a Reese’s Cup. But Reese’s Pieces, the bite-sized candies made famous by E.T., have never made an appearance in this newsletter. That changes in a big, big way today.

Based on their name alone, there should be little mystery when it comes to what you can expect with Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookie. It’s the classic Reese’s Pieces — chocolate shell, peanut butter center — with a crunchy chocolate cookie core.
Over at the peanut butter cups division of Reese’s, they’ve been shoving stuff inside candy for years now. Reese’s Puffs, potato chips, cookies, pretzels — they’ve all gone inside Reese’s Cups of varying sizes to a wild level of success. But this is the first time we’ve gotten anything besides peanut butter inside Reese’s Pieces.
And, wow, is it a success.
If you’ve gotten this far with Reese’s Pieces, you’re already aware that chocolate and peanut butter go together as well as, well, you know. But adding a crispy chocolate cookie center? We’re on a new level here, folks.
There are few times during a Snackology taste test where I find myself straight up housing whatever it is I’m supposed to be trying. Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookie was the first of three items I was trying and photographing earlier this week, and I had to pull myself away from them.
Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookie were provided to Snackology for this independent review.
