If you love Pringles but wish they were EXTRA THICK, I have good news for you ...

Pringles Dippers deliver a more substantial crisp, while Pringles Mingles Sweet & Salty capture the best of both worlds.

Didn’t Snackology just review a handful of new Pringles flavors? you might be asking. That’s very observant of you, dedicated newsletter reader. You’re right. The newsletter did just cover two of the Pringles x Buffalo Wild Wings flavors. But the magicians over at the Pringles factory have been busy.

Will the world ever be the same now that Pringles Dippers are on their way?

“We know it can be frustrating if your typical salty dipping vessel prevents your perfect scoop or breaks as you dip, which is why we’ve created Pringles Dippers,” Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of Salty at Mars Snacking, said in the company’s announcement. (That’s a fantastic job title.) “Our iconic parabolic shape is now thicker and wavier than ever — built to handle any dipping style from light dips to heavy scoops.”

Not only am I sending my thoughts on all three flavors of Pringles Dippers your way today, I also have an early look at Pringles Mingles Sweet & Salty. I’ve actually never had a Mingle before, so I was excited to jump into that part of the review.

Oh, and if you scroll all the way to the end of this edition of Snackology, you might just find a bonus review ...

My thoughts

If you’re like me, and you’ve been buying new snacks for a long time, every so often you’ll get hit with a bit of snacky déjà vu. As I was reading about and then trying Pringles Dippers, I had a sense that I’ve seen this before. Despite Pringles calling the trio “the brand’s first-ever thicker, sturdier and wavier crisp,” I felt like I had imagined doing this before.

We have. Pringles Wavy were on shelves up until a few years ago.

I couldn’t tell you the difference between Pringles Wavy and Pringles Dippers. I thought that maybe the ridges went the opposite direction, but that doesn’t even appear to be the case.

Pringles Dippers Original

In any group taste test, you’ll never go wrong starting with the standard variety. Pringles Dippers Original wisely doesn’t make any changes to the classic Pringles flavor. That starchy potato taste that has made Pringles a staple is exactly what you’d expect.

This review about a bunch of new Pringles that definitely aren’t Pringles Wavy is for Snackology+ and The Omnicosm+ subscribers. (There’s also a special bonus review at the end of this newsletter.) To read this edition of Snackology, please upgrade your membership or sign into your account.
