Dunkin’ Double amps up the caffeine
I’m fully on board with 140 mg of caffeine ... but I don’t think I should drink one of these cans every morning.

I love an energy drink. And Dunkin’ is my go-to coffee chain. (I’m usually a cold brew with cold foam guy, and there’s a very good chance I’m walking away with a donut or bag of Munchkins too.) The news that Dunkin’ was rolling out a new line of caffeine-packed canned drinks absolutely caught my attention.
Dunkin’ Double Ice Espresso drinks made their debut on March 10, rolling out in three flavors: Original, Café Mocha and Salted Caramel.
“These new 15-oz Dunkin’ Double cans deliver more of the smooth iced espresso taste fans love in a format built to power busy days,” Dunkin’ wrote in their Dunkin’ Double announcement. “Designed for those always on the go, Dunkin’ Double is the perfect grab-and-go companion for coffee lovers looking [for] a bold boost whenever they need it.”
A canned coffee that offers 140 mg of caffeine and “real milk and real cane sugar” definitely fits the definition of “a bold boost.”

Each can of Dunkin’ Double has a suggested price of $3.26, but you can also buy a 12-pack case on Walmart’s website for $44.93.

Dunkin’ Double, especially the Original and Café Mocha flavors, are delicious. They’re a throwback to cans of iced coffee you quite possibly bought during college in hopes of injecting a major dose of caffeine into your veins. They’re sweet. They’re creamy. They’re a treat.
And they should be consumed as a treat.
In addition to their classic, throwback flavors, each can of Dunkin’ Double packs a whopping 52 percent of your daily suggested value of sugar. I love the 140 mg of caffeine that each can promises, but I can’t chug down 26 grams of added sugar each morning.
But I can probably make an exception once in a while. For a treat.
