There’s never been a better time to be a fan of gummies. If you take a stroll through the candy aisle, you’ll find Swedish gummies, spicy gummies, gummies that taste like Mountain Dew and even gummies that glow in the dark.
And now thanks to Black Forest, we have gummies that you can feel good about as you eat an entire bag.
The company revamped its lineup of gummies this spring, introducing Black Forest Organic Gummy Bears and Black Forest Organic Gummy Forest Friends. The company is serious about the “organic” part, noting that these gummies are now USDA Certified Organic.
“Every Black Forest gummy is made with no artificial colors and flavors from real sources,” the company writes in its press release. “No second-guessing needed; just a joyfully fruitful and deliciously sweet gummy experience that you can feel good about.”

It looks like the large 18 oz. bag of Black Forest Organic gummies will run you $8.99 while a box of 12 of the smaller 4.5 oz. bags can be found for around $23.

I’ve eaten a bunch of different kinds of gummies over the past year. My favorites have been the ones that don’t leave you with what I like to call that “oh no, I ate too many gummies” mouthfeel. Both varieties of Black Forest gummies meet that high standard. I found myself losing track of how many gummies I had eaten from bags of both the Gummy Bears and Gummy Forest Friends as I worked on the photos for this review.
I love that between the two varieties of organic gummies, we not only get bears, owls, rabbits, foxes and squirrels but also a whopping 11 different flavors. Gummy Bears come in cherry, apple, lemon, orange, pineapple and strawberry and Gummy Forest Friends come in watermelon, grape, mango, raspberry, peach and cherry. (I guess cherry was popular enough to be featured in both kinds of Black Forest gummies.)
Now if only Black Forest could figure out a way to cover its organic gummies in organic chocolate ...
