It’s time for Tim Robinson and Marc Maron to host ‘SNL’

With SNL announcing its next wave of hosts this week, I wanted to take advantage of the show being on hiatus this weekend to discuss two names that we need to see in a future host reveal: Tim Robinson and Marc Maron.

Both Robinson and Maron have turned early SNL rejection — Robinson departing after a season in the cast and Maron not making it past the standard-yet-confusing interview with Lorne Michaels — into very successful careers, forging their own paths in the world of comedy outside of SNL.

With Robinson having a moment thanks to the success of The Chair Company on HBO and Maron doing the rounds after ending the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, now’s the time to give these guys the reins of their own episodes of SNL.

Remember when a new ‘Star Wars’ trailer was magic?

After George Lucas had seemingly closed out the Star Wars franchise’s days of theatrical releases, after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith had brought the tale of Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the Dark Side and rise as Darth Vader to an end, Disney swooped in and bought Lucasfilm, quickly announcing that a new trilogy set after the original films was now in production.

By the time Black Friday 2014 rolled around, we knew that the first film in the trilogy would be titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it would be directed by JJ Abrams and returning Star Wars icons Mark HamillHarrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were going to be joined by a new generation of actors led by Daisy Ridley, John BoyegaOscar Isaac and Adam Driver.

Then came the chatter that the first teaser was on the way. How? What would it show? There was still more than a year until The Force Awakens was set to hit theaters in December 2015.

Smartfood Caramel Chocolate popcorn brings two fantastic flavors together for the holidays

I think I might have a problem when it comes to Smartfood.

No, not the traditional white cheddar flavor. (The one that people believe “doesn’t hit like it used to.”) The weird flavors like Smartfood Doritos Nacho Cheese and Smartfood Cheetos Cheddar. The sweet flavors like Smartfood Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn.

I don’t feel comfortable revealing how many bags of Smartfood I go through every week.

My snack-hunting radar is on high alert when the holidays roll around and Frito-Lay unveils a delicious new limited-edition flavor of Smartfood. In the past, we’ve gotten Cap’n Crunch Merry Berries Popcorn Mix (they added Crunch Berries to popcorn!) and Chocolate Glazed Donut. Both of these flavors were before the days of Snackology, so my thoughts on them are lost to time. (They were obviously amazing, and I miss them every day.)

For 2025, Frito-Lay revealed that Smartfood Chocolate Caramel is our seasonal flavor of popcorn. Not as wild as popcorn that includes Crunch Berries or invokes the glory of a frosted donut, but this is a flavor combo that’s tried and true.
