Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Doomsday. / Avengers
Before we even got to the D23 panel on Friday night, Robert Downey Jr. revealed a new Doctor Doom poster. Which is also better than pretty much any previous poster we’ve gotten for Doomsday! Who’s running the marketing campaign for this movie?
X-Men
At long last, we have the cast for the MCU’s X-Men movie: Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury ... better known as Mister Sinister.
How cool is that Obsession rocketed Navarrette into being in X-Men? It feels like there’s probably more cast announcements to come for X-Men, especially when you take into account the rumor that Charles Melton dropped out of playing Beast just a few days ago. This roster is also missing pivotal X-Men characters like Wolverine and Magneto.
VisionQuest
I love everything about this VisionQuest trailer. I love that the talented folks behind VisionQuest were able to build that story out into Agatha All Along and now get to conclude it with this show. And I love how the line “I was a different person back then” is a fun callback to the Ship of Theseus conversation in WandaVision.
The first poster for VisionQuest absolutely feels like it belongs alongside the advertising for WandaVision. Thrilled to see James Spader unleashed in the MCU too.

It’s so cool that the second season of Ahsoka is fully leaning into live-action Clone Wars stuff, but I really could do without the whole “are you a Jedi ... or not?” schtick for Ahsoka again.
We already saw her walk away from the Jedi Order. She is who she is. Please let this character be fun again, Dave Filoni.
No trailer for Star Wars: Starfighter at D23, but we did get the reveal that Ryan Gosling’s character’s name is Kade Auberon. Which is a perfect Star Wars name. I also want that “Rebel Alliance as skull-and-crossbones” jacket.

Busy few weeks for Gosling. He was at SDCC last month for the reveal that he was starring in Ghost Rider, which Starfighter director Shawn Levy is also helming. And now here he is at D23.
The throwback Star Wars logo is a nice touch for the Starfighter teaser poster.

Disney, you can’t just say something like “Walton Goggins is Beef Roger Crumbchuck” and expect us to all go on with our lives. I need to know everything about his Hexed character.
Disney didn’t release a trailer for Frozen III, but the footage from the animated film sounds very interesting. “Elsa was in a pink gown that audibly stunned the crowd. Anna was in a wedding dress asking who is crashing the wedding,” Vulture’s Savannah Salazar wrote. “And the Northern Lights guided Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf to a devious ice diva — wait, is this going to be gay? [Idina Menzel] they couldn’t say who that is … yet.”
And while Disney didn’t announce a third animated Moana movie, it did reveal that Zootopia, Moana’s fellow 2016 release, was getting a second sequel. And this one was going to the birds.
I’m fully behind any new original story from Disney. Especially if Kieran Culkin is doing one of the voices.

And why wasn’t this Ghost Market teaser released in a normal format? I’m 40. I don’t want to watch vertical videos.
Incredibles 3
We got new concept art from director Peter Sohn’s Incredibles 3. Brad Bird, the director of the first two Incredibles movies, is writing the screenplay for the third installment.
Pixar also dropped a new image from Gatto, the cat-centric movie with Mark Ruffalo voicing the lead character.

Oh man, I wasn’t ready to see Bluey and Bingo in a new form of animation. The Bluey Movie is going to be huge. Like, goodbye, all box office records.
📖 What Have They Done to Bluey?(Eric Vilas-Boas, Vulture): “The elegance of 2D designs are central to its appeal: Not only is it less stimulating to my toddler than the average pre-school show, but its characters are super easy for artistically challenged parents like myself to convincingly doodle when the kid inevitably asks for a Bluey drawing.”
💬 “I have reminded myself that the show's creators are also the ones making this movie, so I am trying, with some difficulty, to swallow the TORRENT of RAGE that erupted in my soul upon first seeing this image,” entertainment writer Adam B. Vary wrote on social media.

I have very little idea what Oswald is about beyond the character being Walt Disney’s creation before turning to Mickey Mouse, but this looks adorable.
