Zootopia 2 snaked its way back to the No. 1 spot, putting up some major box office numbers as the sequel wraps up its third weekend in theaters. The animated film reached the $1 billion mark on Friday, doing so quicker than any previous PG-rated film.
Disney’s latest film has cracked into 2025’s top ten, with Zootopia 2 passing Captain America: Brave New World’s $200.5 million. The sequel continues to play ahead of its predecessor, which stood at $200.9 million through three weekends — but the gap between the two Zootopia films is closing.
