Yabba dabba do yourself a favor and try Cinnamon Pebbles

Do kids even know that the Flintstones exist beyond the cereal aisle?

Yabba dabba do yourself a favor and try Cinnamon Pebbles

While I’ve been steadily working my way through my stash of Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Mexican Style Hot Chocolate the past few weeks, I took a break on Monday to give the return of Cinnamon Pebbles a shot.

I gotta be honest — Pebbles are not a cereal that I traditionally keep on our shelf of (way too many) cereals. There was a time in the early 2000s when I bought a ton of Post cereals in hopes of completing the entire set of tiny MLB bobbleheads that were included in boxes of classics like Pebbles and the original Oreo O’s. And it’s just about time to buy a few boxes to make my yearly batch or two of Fruity Pebbles Treats.

When a box of Cinnamon Pebbles was waiting for me upon our return from a week of Thanksgiving travels, though, I knew that this cereal was going to be exactly what I ate on Monday morning before jumping back into the grind of life. (Full disclosure, the grind of life started at least an hour before I had a bowl of Cinnamon Pebbles.)

What they cost

Cinnamon Pebbles have limited availability at the moment, but when they go nationwide on Jan. 1, 2026, in 2 oz. cup, 11 oz. regular size and 19.5 oz. family size varieties, I’d expect them to be priced in line with the rest of the Pebbles cereal family.

My thoughts

Upon opening my box of Cinnamon Pebbles, I’m immediately hit with a warm cinnamon smell. According to Post, Cinnamon Pebbles are “crispy rice flakes baked with bold cinnamon and smooth vanilla notes in every bite.” In an era of shrinkflation, look at Post giving us not only cinnamon but also vanilla in this cereal.

If you’ve ever had a bowl of any kind of Pebbles cereal — for me, that would be Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles — you know what to expect when it comes to the look and texture of Cinnamon Pebbles. I’m pretty sure Post nailed these elements of the Pebbles formula back in 1970 and has wisely stuck with them for the next 55 years.

While Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles are sugar bombs that blast your taste buds with flavor, Cinnamon Pebbles are a bit more subtle. (You know ... as subtle as you can be for a cereal that has cartoon cavemen on the box.) The added vanilla flavor is a nice touch, rounding out the flavor of the cereal.

I can see why people have been hoping that Post would bring Cinnamon Pebbles back at some point. Fans had a taste of this flavor combo with Cinna-Crunch Pebbles back in the late 1990s and a different version of Cinnamon Pebbles (I’m not sure if this one had vanilla in the mix) in the mid/late 2010s.

🍪🍪🍪 (3 out of 5 cookies)

Ever since a friend’s mom started including them in her holiday cookie mix way back in high school (middle school?), Fruity Pebbles Treats are a staple of my Christmas cookie roster. There’s no way I’ll ever abandon the perfect union of fruit cereal and gooey marshmallow, but I am considering trying an extra batch of Pebbles Treats that swaps in Cinnamon Pebbles.
