Hello! Welcome to The Box Office Report for the weekend of Aug. 15-17, 2025.

1. Weapons

Weekend gross: $25M
Total domestic gross: $89M
Last weekend: 1st
Percent drop: 43

Director Zach Cregger’s latest horror film showed impressive hold this weekend, falling only 43 percent from its debut to keep a lock on the No. 1 spot. Weapons easily blew away Cregger’s first two films, with its $43.5 million opening weekend instantly jumping past the domestic totals of Companion ($20.8 million) and Barbarian ($40.8 million). This weekend’s $25 million frame puts Weapons on track to become the director’s first $100 million hit.
