With 20 ‘next-level menu innovations’ on the way at Live Más LIVE 2026, Taco Bell kicks things off with this sweet duo.
One of these days, Taco Bell will restore the beloved Choco Taco to its menu. But until then, the chain has been rolling out a bunch of other fun sweets. The last year alone brought us Birthday Cake Churros, Salted Caramel Churros, the Confetti Cookie Freeze ... and the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie.
With Live Más LIVE 2026 filming tonight (yes, there’s now an actual live show where Taco Bell will unveil 20 new menu items, which you’ll be able to watch it on Peacock on March 20), Taco Bell gave us a sneak peek on Tuesday of its latest sweet treat: The Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas.
The duo hit menus today ahead of joining the chain’s Luxe Value Menu for a limited time later this month.
“Inspired by the beloved Caramel Apple Empanada, the Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas bring back the fan-favorite format with a new indulgent twist,” Taco Bell said in the announcement of the empanada pair. “Served as two warm, crispy empanadas for $2.99, the duo delivers double the decadence: one filled with salted caramel in a classic crust, the other wrapped in a crisp chocolatey shell filled with rich chocolate fudge, designed to give way to warm, velvety filling in every bite.”
Are the Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas the perfect way to kick off Live Más LIVE 2026? And did I make the right decision in swinging by Taco Bell this morning to pick up the duo?

The two empanadas were $2.99 at my Taco Bell.

While I don’t recall ever eating the Caramel Apple Empanada that inspired the Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas, I’m fully on board with this latest bit of Taco Bell dessert innovation.
Or, in my case, post-breakfast snack innovation. Look, the empanadas were already available as part of Taco Bell’s breakfast menu, and I wasn’t going to pass up the chance to put them through the Snackology taste test this morning.
I love that you get both of the new empanadas together. Both flavors offer a satisfying crunch when you bite into them. If you’re a chocolate lover, you’re gonna love that Taco Bell put in the extra work to create a chocolate empanada shell for the Chocolate Fudge option while sticking with the classic shell for the Caramel version.
Both empanadas are best enjoyed warm. I’d even suggest eating them in your car if you can’t wait to get home. Like with both the Birthday Cake Churros and Salted Caramel Churros, though, I really need Taco Bell to include a dipping cup of icing with the Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas. I know there’s cream cheese frosting inside the Cinnabon Delights ...
