I’ve covered everything from Coca-Cola Oreos to Oreos filled with more Oreos to — shudder — Oreos that taste like turkey and stuffing. Today we’re digging into a trio of new Oreo cookies featuring flavors that have never been seen before and will soon be in stores for the first time ever:
Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies, Oreo Deep Fried Cookies and Oreo Banana Pudding Cookies.
“In its boldest taste test challenge yet, the brand is dropping THREE all-new, limited-edition cookies simultaneously — and for the first time ever, leaving it entirely up to OREO cookie superfans to vote on which one will make a comeback,” Oreo said in its announcement of the Twist Lick Vote campaign.
Yes, we’re doing a food election for the second time this year, following up on Americans across the country going to the polls to cast their votes for the next flavor of M&M’s. While the candidates in the M&M’s election were all bakery-themed, the Twist Lick Vote Oreo cookies are bold and adventurous.
Chicken & Waffles? I’m kind of scared. Deep Fried? Let’s do it. Banana Pudding? That one has to be a hit.

My thoughts
I was serious when I said that there’s an Oreo election happening. From Aug. 17 to Oct. 12, you can scan the QR code on packages of these flavors or go to the Twist Lick Vote website to cast a vote for the flavor you want to see return to shelves for a limited time in 2027.

Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies
Snackology readers know my history with meat-flavored snacks. (Not to be confused with meats that are snacks.) The Turkey & Stuffing Oreo in the Thanksgiving Dinner Cookie Tin traumatized me. Those KFC jellybeans were a nightmare. But I was ready to give Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies an honest try, especially with Oreo pointing out that it’s a “first-of-its kind for the cookie aisle.”

At first sniff, these Oreos smell fantastic. A rich, syrupy waffle scent immediately sets the tone when you open a package of Chicken & Waffles Oreos. But there’s something else lurking there ...
Poultry.
And after eating one of these cookies, I quickly came to the conclusion that they would be the perfect Waffles & Syrup Oreos (even better than the BTS ones) if it wasn’t for the whole, you know, chicken part.

If you don’t want the chicken element of these cookies, there’s really no way to avoid it. The cookies and the creme are “both infused with sweet and savory flavor notes,” so it’s not like you can just go all-in on the waffles part.
But if you wanted to try the collab between Oreo and KFC but couldn’t make it to China, Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies are your next best bet for a chicken-y cookie.
The deep-fried Oreo is a staple of state fairs and carnivals. I’m honestly surprised that Oreo didn’t find a way to include a version in the Oreo Summer Carnival Cookie Tin. With the promise that Oreo “baked that iconic golden-fried, doughy flavor right into the cookie itself, with fried dough-flavored cookies wrapping layers of dark chocolate and fried dough flavored creme,” this was the flavor that I was genuinely looking forward to the most.

Oreo Deep Fried Cookies don’t disappoint. Not only is the taste of a classic Oreo part of these cookies, but that hint of fried dough really does come through. It’s not enough to trick you into believing that you’re actually eating a cookie covered in fried batter, but it’s enough to remind you that you’re not eating a traditional Oreo.

I love the work that went into the Oreo Deep Fried Cookies. The triple-layer frosting makes it look like there’s an actual standard Oreo stuck between two layers of batter. Even the cookies themselves have a fried appearance to them.
If you’re working your way through the three Twist Lick Vote flavors, I definitely recommend saving Oreo Banana Pudding Cookies for last. They’re much lighter than the Chicken & Waffles and Deep Fried cookies. If you love that artificial banana flavor found in Laffy Taffy, you’re gonna wanna try these Oreos.

Honestly, the Oreo Banana Pudding Cookies could be more banana-y. Like, crank up that banana dial to an 11. Based on the package, I assumed that the cookies themselves were the standard Golden Oreo cookies, but the description from Oreo notes that they’re actually vanilla wafer cookies. With Nilla Wafers also owned by Mondelez, we could’ve gotten an easy collaboration here.
