Olipop Pomegranate Sparkle is my new favorite flavor
The new prebiotic soda flavor is fantastic. Things only get better with the Olipop x Compartés Chocolatier Holiday Collection.

Did you know that the Yeti characters sometimes seen on cans of Olipop have names? The duo of Oli and Pop made their debut in November 2024, anchoring seasonal cans of Vintage Cola and Ginger Ale.
The prebiotic soda company added Pip to the family as the mascot for Crisp Apple last November, and is now expanding the lineup of Yetis yet again with Pom, the face of Olipop Pomegranate Sparkle.

Pomegranate Sparkle went live on Oct. 1, offering Olipop fans a “juicy blend of pomegranate, sweet quince and tangy passionfruit finished with a crisp sparkle.”
As if a new Olipop flavor wasn’t already big enough news, the company has partnered with Compartés to release the Olipop x Compartés Chocolatier Holiday Collection. The collection pairs three flavors of Olipop prebiotic sodas with different kinds of Compartés chocolate, featuring Pomegranate Sparkle, Crisp Apple and Ginger Ale.
Are you ready to meet Pom, your new prebiotic soda mascot best friend?

In addition to traditional Olipop sources like Amazon, Target, Walmart and Whole Foods, Pomegranate Sparkle is also available in a 12-pack for $35.99 on Olipop’s website.
You can buy the three flavors from the Olipop x Compartés Chocolatier Holiday Collection on the Compartés website either individually for $12 per chocolate bar or as the Olipop Chocolate Bar Gift Box for $45.

I’m not going to mess around here. Pomegranate Sparkle is easily one of the best Olipop flavors I’ve ever tried.

Everything about this soda is fantastic. (It was hard to not already be on board with a joyful Yeti on the can.) “Juicy” was the first thing that came to mind, echoing exactly what’s printed on the back of the can.

Olipop Pomegranate Sparkle unlocked the memory of some distant beverage in my brain. I’ve had another can since my initial taste test, and I still can’t place it. Was it a holiday punch from a Christmas party of my youth?

When I first started to get into prebiotic sodas last year, I had to overcome that distinctive aftertaste that they carry. That aftertaste isn’t bad; it’s just not something that I was used to as a drinker of classic sodas. Olipop Pomegranate Sparkle doesn’t have that aftertaste.
I need to hoard this prebiotic soda.

This is Snackology, so the news that Olipop and Compartés had teamed up to deliver a trio of chocolate bars inspired by flavors of the prebiotic soda is right in my wheelhouse. (I love a soda/candy crossover. The infamous Peeps Pepsi came before I launched this newsletter.)

Compartés isn’t just any chocolate brand, though. Olipop wasn’t messing around when it came to finding an elevated chocolatier for this collab. The chocolate is high-end. The packaging is gorgeous. If they started selling wrapping paper with these patterns, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

With Pomegranate Sparkle being the prebiotic soda flavor in the spotlight, it made sense to start with this one. Compartés delivered three different styles of chocolate for this partnership, with the Olipop Pomegranate Sparkle Chocolate Bar featuring white chocolate.

The pomegranate flavors of Pomegranate Sparkle pair perfectly with the Compartés white chocolate. I know that white chocolate isn’t everyone’s favorite style of chocolate — some of you even deny that it is chocolate! — but I’m a fan of it.
Unlike the other two chocolate bars in the Olipop x Compartés Chocolatier Holiday Collection, the Pomegranate Sparkle Chocolate Bar doesn’t have any mix-ins.

Crisp Apple is one of my top Olipop flavors, so I was thrilled to see it make the prestigious cut for this collaboration. The Olipop Crisp Apple Chocolate Bar is milk chocolate. If you’re like me, you expected it to be milk chocolate infused with apple flavors.

But no! This chocolate bar has actual bits of apple in it.
These apple bits are on the softer side, reminiscent of the little apple bits that you’d get in old-school Quaker apple cinnamon oatmeal. I loved picking those apple bits out of my oatmeal when I was a kid, so their inclusion in the Olipop Crisp Apple Chocolate Bar is a huge treat.

The final member of the Olipop x Compartés Chocolatier Holiday Collection pairs dark chocolate with a touch of “zesty” lime and crystallized ginger. Going into my taste test of these chocolate bars, this was the flavor that I was least sure about. I love dark chocolate, but Olipop Ginger Ale often comes on a bit too strong for my taste.

But the Olipop Ginger Ale Chocolate Bar strikes a fantastic balance between the three flavors at work here. The bits of crystallized ginger add a fun crunch, too.
