It seems like every time I’m wheeling my grocery cart down the final stretch of our Harris Teeter, there’s a new flavor of Chips Ahoy! Chewy cookies waiting for me on the standalone display manned by Nabisco at the end of the frozen section.
I have to applaud the folks over at Chips Ahoy! for their continued innovation in their field. New Oreo flavors steal the spotlight, but we’ve gotten a steady stream of limited-edition Chewy flavors over the past year. There have been Chips Ahoy! Chewy Ice Cream Sandwich-Inspired Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chips Ahoy! Chewy Cookie Butter-Inspired Cookies and even Chips Ahoy! x Stranger Things Limited-Edition Cookies.
I don’t always pick up these new flavors, but I couldn’t pass up Chips Ahoy! Chewy Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Bar-Inspired Cookies when I spotted them last week. A cookie flavored like a candy bar that’s flavored like a cookie? I’m on board.

I paid $4.69 for a 9.58 oz. pack of Chips Ahoy! Cookies ‘n’ Creme at Harris Teeter.

OK, bear with me as I work through the math that led us to a moment in time where Chips Ahoy! Cookies ‘n’ Creme cookies exist. The Oreo cookie was introduced in 1912, sandwiching creme filling between two chocolate cookies. The Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme candy bar was introduced in 1994, putting chocolate cookie bits into what was originally a white chocolate bar. And now Nabisco, the same company that makes Oreos, has introduced Chips Ahoy! Cookies ‘n’ Creme cookies, which feature “chocolate sandwich cookie pieces and white fudge chips.”
It took us over a century of cookies and candy trying to emulate each other to reach the time when I stuffed like three of the Chips Ahoy! Cookies ‘n’ Creme cookies in my mouth one after another.
These cookies are fantastic.
As I was writing this review, I had originally marked them down for a 4-cookie snack score, but as I thought more about them (and ate a few more cookies), I realized that they deserve a perfect snack score.
The Chips! Ahoy Chewy cookie is the perfect base for the crunchy cookie bits, with the white fudge chips adding a texture that falls right between the cookie itself and the chocolate cookie tidbits.
I can’t wait for the Hershey’s candy bar that features bits of Chips Ahoy! Cookies ‘n’ Creme cookies in it.
