‘Karate Kid: Legends’ fails to put up a fight against ‘Lilo & Stitch’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’
The legacy sequel earned a respectable $21 million — but that wasn’t enough to overpower the tag team of Disney’s latest remake and Tom Cruise.

Hello! Welcome to The Box Office Report for the weekend of May 30-June 1, 2025.
1. Lilo & Stitch
Weekend gross: $63M
Total domestic gross: $280.1M
Last weekend: 1st

Is Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch remake creatively bankrupt? Yup. But is it also a box office hit? Also yup.
The film added another $63 million to its domestic haul this past weekend, easily bumping it up to the No. 2 spot for 2025, behind only A Minecraft Movie with $423 million.
The Lilo & Stitch remake has also outgrossed recent Disney live-action cash grabs like Snow White ($87.2 million) and Mufasa: The Lion King ($254.6 million).
