‘Zootopia 2’ snakes its way back to No. 1
‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ saw a big drop, allowing the animated Disney sequel to reclaim the top spot.
The breakfast favorite has cranked up the protein on a new line of cereals.
If you’re a food brand in 2025 and you haven’t released a version with added protein, are you even a real brand? We’ve seen cereal brands like Magic Spoon make the leap from online sales to grocery store aisles. There’s even going to be a jacked protein-infused Edible Mascot leading one of the Pop-Tarts Bowl crews.
And now a staple of breakfast cereals is getting in on the protein action, with Post rolling out Honey Bunches of Oats Protein beginning today. The cereal company notes that the new offshoot of the classic cereal, available in Cinnamon and Honey & Almond, is “designed for today’s health-conscious consumer” and “is ideal for anyone who wants a more balanced, protein forward cereal.”

I didn’t see a price for Honey Bunches of Oats Protein while putting this Quick Bites together, but with the new cereal going live today, that info should be available soon for 15 oz. boxes.

I’m not normally a Honey Bunches of Oats eater, but I definitely came into this taste test with an open mind. On the rare occasion when my wife picks out a box of cereal at the grocery store, she usually goes for Honey Bunches of Oats — and I trust her taste. (Except when it comes to olives. Yeesh.)
I love the cinnamon taste that you immediately get when you take your first bite of Honey Bunches of Oats Protein Cinnamon. There’s a great mix of flavors and textures in this cereal, and the Oat + Protein Granola Bunches are the star of the cereal. I should probably buy some regular Honey Bunches of Oats to see if there’s a taste difference between them and this version with added protein. (I also love that the front of the box drives home the fact that Honey Bunches of Oats Protein is a “good source of protein!”
