The first Five Nights at Freddy’s was a surprise hit, crashing the box office with a massive $80 million first weekend back in October 2023. The sequel followed in its predecessor’s footsteps — to a smaller degree — beating out tentpoles like Zootopia 2 and Wicked: For Good to claim the No. 1 spot with $63 million.

The numbers are a bit skewed since the original Zootopia opened in March while Zootopia 2 has the benefit of opening over a long Thanksgiving weekend, but Disney’s sequel is currently blowing away its predecessor’s pace through two weekends.
Zootopia 2 breezed past the $200 million mark this weekend to sit at $220.5 million in North America. (Zootopia had grossed $144 million at the same point.) The animated hit is also closing in on the $1 billion mark, with its $915.8 million worldwide haul just over $100 million behind the $1.019 billion that Zootopia settled at during its original run.
