Only 10,000 Hershey’s Dubai-Inspired Chocolate Bars exist. And I ate one of them.

It’s not often that an innovation comes along in the world of chocolate that turns into a genuine phenomenon, but Dubai chocolate has reached that elevated level of cultural awareness in just a few years.

The chocolate bar concoction burst onto the scene in 2021, exploding beyond its origins in, well, Dubai to capture the imagination of candy lovers and brands across the world.

Brands like Lindt and Ghirardelli have created their own versions. Shake Shack introduced a Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake earlier this year, modifying the combination of chocolate, kadayif and pistachio into a drink that folks could pair with their go-to order. (Mine would be the simple and delicious ShackBurger.)

When it comes to chocolate in America, there isn’t a more iconic brand than Hershey’s, so it was only a matter of time before we got a take on the Dubai chocolate bar from them. And, boy, did Hershey’s do it big.

Santa came early with this Christmas candy roundup

Christmas is only a few weeks away, and while I can’t help you out with any wishes for convertibles, yachts or platinum mines, I do have the biggest roundup in Snackologyhistory ready to guide your sleigh through the seasonal candy aisles at your favorite stores.

Before you brave the winter weather and increasingly frantic crowds at the grocery store or Target, here are EIGHTEEN items that you should have on your radar. Some of them are new products for 2025, while others are returning classics.

I’ve been working on this round since October, picking up Christmas candy whenever something cool or new caught my attention, covering the range of seasonal candy from chocolate to gummies.

Deep SNL Thoughts • Episode Review

‘SNL’ gives us Melissa McCarthy as host for her 6th time, takes us to ‘Cousin Planet’

There have been a few episodes of SNL this season hosted by people who exist in the background of sketches. The show happens to them, with SNL cast members driving the episode.

Melissa McCarthy has never been and is not that kind of SNL host.

When McCarthy hosts SNL, she is the show.

‘Supergirl’ brings ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ vibes to the DCU

James Gunn didn’t direct Supergirl, but his fingerprints are all over the first trailer for the upcoming DCU film. It’s not surprising that Gunn had an influence on the film — he is the co-chief of DC Studios, after all — but I didn’t expect director Craig Gillespie’s film to feel wildly inspired by Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

‘His finest hour’: Henson biographer Brian Jay Jones and I chat about ‘Muppet Family Christmas’

I adore A Muppet Family Christmas. It was my first entry into the world of Jim Henson. My mom taped it off TV, and our family would watch it on VHS year after year after year. Now, you can watch several bootlegged versions on YouTube.

Why YouTube and not streaming or Blu-ray, you ask? Surely, someone could be making money on this thing.

A Muppet Family Christmas, in its original form with all its songs and characters, does not exist on any official streaming service or physical media.
