Season 51 of SNL has given us episodes hosted by superstars like Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande. But this weekend, we’re going to get what has the potential to be the biggest episode of the season.
Ryan Gosling is back.
And, despite the Project Hail Mary star’s counting error, it’ll be his fourth time hosting and first since he teamed up with Mikey Day for the “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch when he hosted during Season 49. (Will SNL try to recapture that sketch’s breakout virality? And does that work with Heidi Gardner no longer being on the show?)
This is also the second time that Gosling has errantly gotten a Five-Timers jacket. Lorne Michaels didn’t mind him wearing one during Kristen Wiig’s monologue a few years ago. Feels like the ultimate punchline here is to never bring Gosling back to host a fifth time.
