‘Sinners’ breaks record for most Oscar nominations with 16

Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman revealed nominees in all 24 categories on Thursday morning. It was a historic day for Sinners, with Ryan Coogler’s film scoring a record 16 nominations, easily passing the previous record of 14 held by All About EveTitanic and La La Land.

Before we dive into all the nominees, let’s all laugh at the Academy giving Avatar: Fire and Ash — a movie featuring fully CGI characters — a nomination for Costume Design ...

There’s too much f*cking sh*t on Joel Kinnaman

Apple TV release the first teaser for Season 5 of For All Mankind this week, but more importantly was a picture of Joel Kinnaman looking like Tim Robinson as he sighs that “there’s too much fucking shit on me” in that one I Think You Should Leave sketch.

I love to picture Kinnaman sitting in a makeup chair for hours as the For All Mankindspecial effects team layers him prosthetics in order to play an increasingly ancient version of Ed Baldwin while all of his costars get a few brushes of gray in their hair and head to set.

The ’28 Years Later’ sequel was expected to dethrone James Cameron’s latest sequel, but a soft opening allowed ‘Fire and Ash’ to remain at No. 1.

I raided Target’s Sour Patch Kids stock for this candy roundup

I’m always on the lookout for new things to review at Snackology. Sometimes that vigilance means scoping out the seasonal aisle at the grocery store. Other times it means scrolling through the Target app looking for items with the “New at 🎯” note next to them.

That’s how I realized a bunch of new varieties of Sour Patch Kids just hit stores. (Or at least became available at Target, putting them on my radar.)

I quickly added six of these items to my cart: Sour Patch Kids CherrySour Patch Kids MVP Top Picks MixSour Patch Kids Fruits Tropical Mix, Sour Patch Kids BestiesSour Patch Kids Candy Strips and Sour Patch Kids Chews.

Taco Bell gets fancy with its new Luxe Value Menu

We’re somehow two thirds through January, and Snackology has yet to do a Taco Bell review in 2026. That changes right now. You’re about to dig into the BIGGEST Taco Bell review in Snackology history.

The fast food chain launched its Luxe Value Menu for Taco Bell Rewards Members last week, and the entire ten-item lineup is set to become available for everyone this Thursday. Taco Bell’s revamped value menu picks up where its Cravings Menu left off, with every single item available to be purchased for your eating pleasure for less than three bucks a piece.

Review: Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch Sauce adds a devilish touch of heat to Taco Bell’s nuggets | Snackology
Crispy Chicken Nuggets are back on the menu, and they’ve brought up a kicked-up version of the chain’s Hidden Valley Ranch sauce with them.

‘SNL’ kicks off 2026 with a forgettable Finn Wolfhard episode

SNL’s been off since before Christmas, and maybe it should’ve taken another week to recoup? Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard made his hosting debut last night, but this episode came and went without leaving any kind of lasting impact.

After watching my Buffalo Bills suffer another catastrophic, heartbreaking postseason loss earlier on Saturday, I honestly didn’t expect to stay up and watch SNL. I was out of town and bouncing back from what I’m pretty sure was some kind of food poisoning courtesy of a central Pennsylvania fast-food stop, but how could I skip (or delay) watching SNL’s first episode of 2026?

It turns out I wouldn’t have missed anything.
