A new Jedi Master for ‘Star Wars’?

It’s the beginning of 2025, and Puck is reporting that Kathleen Kennedy plans to step down from the role of president of Lucasfilm.

It’s the beginning of 2026, and Puck is reporting that Kathleen Kennedy plans to step down from the role of president of Lucasfilm.

Rumors that Kennedy is on her way out as head of the Disney division that produces Star Wars (and Indiana Jones) have swirled for years, often fueled by the trollish fury of “fans” angry that Lucasfilm offended them with movies like The Last Jedi or dared to put female characters at the forefront of the stories being told in the franchise.

But this time, this report sounds legit.

The Box Office Report: ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ passes $1B — but falls behind franchise’s historic pace
Sure, $300M over three weekends is cool, but you know what’s cooler? $350M or even $425M.

Follow your nose to Cocoa Loops and Froot Loops Glazed Blueberry Donut Holes

I grew up with a pretty basic pantry of cereal options. Rice Krispies, Cheerios (maybe Honey Nut Cheerios) and the late Raisin Squares. Every so often, though, our great aunt would send us home with a box of Froot Loops.

Froot Loops broke the rules of our cereal shelf. They were bright. They were colorful. They were sugary. Honestly, the only thing greater at that point than scoring a box of Froot Loops was being the person who got the tiny box of Corn Pops from the multipack of cereals that you could cut open and pour milk right into them. (As the oldest of four, it was my birthright to get those boxes of Corn Pops.) Back in the 1990s, Froot Loops left every other cereal in their rainbow-colored dust.

I’m old enough to remember when Froot Loops expanded to include green, blue and purple cereal bits. The addition of marshmallows to Froot Loops might’ve even been a step too far, but I welcomed that update with open arms too.

On several occasions, our daughter has told me that Froot Loops are her favorite cereal. (She’s also told me that Raisin Bran Crunch is her favorite cereal, which is a choice I respect.) It’s fun to see Froot Loops continue its hold on breakfast with yet another generation of cereal lovers, and it’s even more fun to know that the food scientists behind Toucan Sam are still looking for new ways to update the classic cereal.

Which brings us Cocoa Loops and Froot Loops Glazed Blueberry Donut Holes, two new takes on Froot Loops that you can now find in the cereal aisle.

Adding the taste of strawberry jelly to the classic peanut butter-filled pretzel is a brilliant move.
