Hey, you got Reese’s in my Oreo cookies
Snackology is back with the second half of the historic Reese’s/Oreo collaboration.

Snackology brought you an early look at the Oreo Reese’s Cup earlier this month, and now we have the chance to dive into its partner in chocolate/peanut buttery goodness: The Oreo Reese’s Cookie.
OK, quick bit of background on the historic Reese’s/Oreo partnership in case you missed the news when it broke at the end of July. After years of fans asking for Oreo-flavored Reese’s Cups and Reese’s flavored Oreo cookies, the two companies have finally come together to make those dreams come true.
“This collaboration redefines what it means to be a snacking leader by tapping into exactly what our fans are asking for,” Michelle Deignan, vice president, the Oreo brand, US, said in a statement. “At Oreo, we’re always striving to break into the cultural conversation with unexpected and delicious partnerships for fans. As a 110+ year-old brand, we’re constantly looking for ways to disrupt the snacking market. What better way to show our fans we listen to their evolving snacking needs than to partner with the Reese’s brand to deliver the collab of their dreams.”
I love that even after 110 years, Oreo is still looking for new things to do with the iconic cookie. (Reese’s Cups have been around for just short of a century, so it’s about time we got this combo.)

What they cost
I haven’t seen a price yet for the Oreo Reese’s Cookie, but I’m guessing the price should be in line with what you’d normally pay for a package of Oreos.

My thoughts
After being wowed by the Oreo Reese’s Cup (which scored a perfect snack score), I was very much looking forward to the Reese’s Oreo Cookie. Any Snackology reader knows that Oreo cookies play a huge part in not only this newsletter but also in our household snack supply.
As I stacked up a handful of Reese’s Oreo Cookies, I couldn’t escape the scent of chocolate and peanut butter mixing together. It’s hard to go wrong with this combo.

There’s a chance you’re thinking to yourself, Hey, hasn’t Oreo already made peanut butter cookies before? And didn’t they even partner with Reese’s in the past?
Well, hypothetical Snackology reader, you’re correct. An Oreo cookie with peanut butter filling isn’t a new thing. It feels like regular Peanut Butter Oreos have been on grocery stores shelves forever, boasting a “scrumptious peanut butter creme.” Then there are the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Oreos that came out a decade ago. For that Oreo variety, Nabisco went with half Reese’s peanut butter creme and half chocolate creme.
Compared to the new Reese’s Oreo Cookie, that previous cookie feels like cheating. Chocolate creme isn’t part of the Reese’s peanut butter cup experience. These new cookies capture the combined Oreo/Reese’s experience with “signature Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies filled with a Reese’s peanut buttery creme with Oreo cookie crumbs.”

There’s definitely plenty of Oreo crumbs mixed into the Reese’s peanut butter filling, giving each bite of cookie an extra Oreo-y boost.

It’s hard to go wrong with an Oreo cookie filled with peanut butter creme. I dare you to eat one of them and stop. I’m even thinking of taking a regular-sized Oreo Reese’s Cup and sandwiching it between two Reese’s Oreo Cups. For science, of course.
