And I ate them. If you were on social media on April 1, you hopefully knew to not believe any news that sounded even a tiny bit absurd. April 1, after all, is April Fool’s Day, a holiday that has evolved from “let’s play a funny prank” to “let’s lie on the Internet.” (If you’re on Instagram, that platform’s algorithm is probably still serving you up stories from April Fool’s Day.) But it turned out one of those bits of “too ridiculous to be true” bits of news was actually real.
