Before we dive into a “but in the book” conversation, I gotta give credit to MillyAlcockand anyone who was involved with casting her as Kara Zor-El. She’s fantastic. I want to see how her take on the character evolves and grows as the DCU moves forward. But, wow, did screenwriter Ana Nogueira and director Craig Gillespie make some bizarre choices when it came to turning Tom King, Bilquis Evely and Matheus Lopes’s comics into a movie. I wasn’t really familiar with its game. If you’re a longtime **Snackology** reader, you know that I love to add a dessert to my order when I’m at a fast food restaurant. A little treat for a job well done, I guess. So what I’m going to say next will probably shock you. I’ve had maybe one McDonald’s Apple Pie in my entire life. I know! I’m sorry. Growing up, we’d either buy the McDonaldland cookies or an ice cream cone. This was before the introduction of the McFlurry, and once that dessert item was on the menu, it’s been my go-to at McDonald’s for decades now. People are *super* excited that McDonald’s is bringing back the Fried Apple Pie, though. But not the heat. It’s OK to say that the push to make foods like chips, soda and candy healthy has gone too far, right? We’re on the verge of losing the blue M&M to appease a small but vocal crowd that has forgotten that these foods are — and I’m gonna use a phrase that I hate since *you shouldn’t feel guilty* about enjoying things — guilty pleasures. Doritos Dinamita Simply NKD Chile Limón are the latest item to get the “no artificial dyes or flavors” treatment from PepsiCo. The Simply NKD lineup launched at the end of last year, with a variety of very pale Doritos and Cheetos hitting stores. This is the third review Snackology had done for the milestone occasion. These releasees have stretched from minimal effort (standard Frosted Vanilla Cupcake Pop-Tarts that just had Pikachu slapped on the box) to going all in on the anniversary (four different kinds of Goldfish crackers honoring the original starter Pokémon from Red, Blue and Yellow). These Hershey’s Kisses fall somewhere in the middle. The candy themselves are the same chocolate you can always find in a Hershey’s Kiss. But these Kisses have been wrapped in 151 different wrappers!
