# ‘Get serious, man’: Ryan Gosling and Seth Meyers talk laughing on ‘SNL’

**Ryan Gosling** has now had back-to-back *SNL* hosting gigs that became huge talkers due to how he kept breaking. [In the case of his Season 49 episode](https://www.theomnicosm.com/ryan-gosling-cant-stop-breaking-as-he-hosts-snl/), it was “Beavis and Butt-Head” that wound up making **Heidi Gardner** laugh. [But when Gosling hosted two episodes ago](https://www.theomnicosm.com/the-cold-open-snl-review-ryan-gosling/), it felt like the entire episode was geared around making Gosling break ... especially “Passing Notes” with **Ashley Padilla**. 

During a visit to *Late Night* on Wednesday, **Seth Meyers** offered his praise for the “Passing Notes” to the *Project Hail Mary* star.

“It was very novel. I got to say, watching at home, I was deeply jealous. I was like, ‘That's a really great idea,’” Meyers told Gosling. “And that’s the highest praise I can pay the show after I leave, it is anytime it makes me feel jealous.”

Gosling credited **Mikey Day** and **Streeter Seidell** for the sketch.
