Season 51 of *SNL* has given us episodes hosted by superstars like **Bad Bunny**, **Sabrina Carpenter** and **Ariana Grande**. But this weekend, we’re going to get what has the potential to be the biggest episode of the season.

**Ryan Gosling** is back.

And, despite [the *Project Hail Mary* star](https://www.theomnicosm.com/popculturology-lego-review-project-hail-mary/)’s counting error, it’ll be his fourth time hosting and first since he teamed up with **Mikey Day** for the “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch when he hosted during Season 49\. (Will *SNL* try to recapture that sketch’s breakout virality? And does that work with [**Heidi Gardner** no longer being on the show](https://www.theomnicosm.com/wait-snl-chose-to-not-renew-heidi-gardners-contract/)?)

This is also the second time that Gosling has errantly gotten a Five-Timers jacket. **Lorne Michaels** didn’t mind him wearing one [during **Kristen Wiig**’s monologue a few years ago](https://www.theomnicosm.com/kristen-wiig-joins-snls-five-timers-club-with-the-help-of-a-wave-of-cameos/). Feels like the ultimate punchline here is to never bring Gosling back to host a fifth time.
