The Cinnamon Bun Oreo doesn’t quite live up to that experience. This is one of those impossible-to-recreate Oreo flavors. So much of eating a cinnamon bun is about the textural experience. The flavors play off each other. There’s a knowledge that each bite, leading you from the outer spirals to the treat’s inner core, is going to get sweeter and sweeter — but the end is getting closer as you do. An Oreo bite is everything at once. All the flavors of a cinnamon roll have been distilled down and merged together. The weird part of the Cinnamon Roll Oreo is that Oreo could have separated the elements of a cinnamon roll a bit more. A cinnamon cookie and a frosting-flavored creme. (Would that just be normal Oreo creme?) But while Oreo went with cinnamon cookies, they paired them with cinnamon bun-flavored creme. Don’t get me wrong, the Cinnamon Bun Oreo is a good cookie. I’ll keep eating them.
