Hello! Welcome to **The** **Box Office Report** for the weekend of June 26-28, 2026.

## 1\. Toy Story 5

*Weekend gross: *$70M**
*Total domestic gross: *$297.2M**
*Last weekend: *1st**
*Percent drop: *56**

The box office staying power of Pixar sequels continues with *Toy Story 5*. While the studio’s original stories have struggled to sell tickets, the fifth *Toy Story* movie added another $70 million to its domestic total over its second weekend. (This is not only the biggest second weekend in 2026 but also the eighth biggest weekend overall for the year.) A non-sequel from Pixar hasn’t even had a debut that big since *Inside Out* ($90.4 million) all the way back in 2015.

*Toy Story 5* is a few million away from becoming the eighth Pixar movie to crack the $300 million mark in North America, currently sitting between *Finding Nemo* ($339.7 million) and *Up* ($293 million). There’s still a way to go before *Toy Story 5* can claim the title of top-grossing *Toy Story* movie. The series’ most recent two movies both topped out over $400 million, with *Toy Story 3* hitting $415 million and *Toy Story 4* reaching $434 million.

## 2\. Supergirl

*Weekend gross: *$38M**
*Total domestic gross: *$38M**
*Last weekend: *New release**
*Percent drop: *NA**

I wish I had better news about *Supergirl*. The trailers looked great. The vibes coming off **James Gunn**’s *Superman* [were positive](https://www.theomnicosm.com/james-gunns-superman-is-great-because-superman-is-good/). But when the movie premiered this week, it turns out [something went very wrong with the second installment of the DCU](https://www.theomnicosm.com/popculturology-newsletter-supergirl/). **Milly Alcock** did everything she could with an adaptation that [seemingly misread the ending of its source material](https://bsky.app/profile/billkuchman.bsky.social/post/3mpe4pck4rs2h?ref=theomnicosm.com).

*Superman*’s box office debut of $125 million last summer was a good start for the fledgling DCU. *Supergirl*’s $38 million follow-up just sucked the air out of things.

## 3\. Obsession

*Weekend gross: *$9.8M**
*Total domestic gross: *$233.9M**
*Last weekend: *3rd**
*Percent drop: *27**

When *Obsession* premiered back in May, it opened at No. 3\. Six weekends later, it’s still at No. 3\. Over that course of time, **Curry Barker**’s smash hit has spent three weekends at No. 2, dropping to No. 4 at one point. It’s never gone lower. It took seven weekends for *Obsession* to even fall below $10 million. And just barely! There’s always the chance a $9.8 million estimate ticks up to $10 million when the actual numbers come in on Monday.

## 4\. Jackass: Best and Last

*Weekend gross: *$8.4M**
*Total domestic gross: *$8.4M**
*Last weekend: *New release**
*Percent drop: *NA**

The *Jackass* movies have been around for almost a quarter century. Like **Johnny Knoxville** and his buddies, though, the franchise’s box office strength seems to be fading. Every *Jackass* movie before *Jackass: Best and Last* opened with at least $20 million in North America. (*Jackass 3D* even cracked $50 million!) But *Jackass: Best and Last* puttered into theaters with just $8.4 million.

## 5\. Disclosure Day

*Weekend gross: *$8.1M**
*Total domestic gross: *$94.4M**
*Last weekend: *2nd**
*Percent drop: *54**

The box office has not been kind to **Steven Spielberg**’s *Disclosure Day*. After a so-so $44.5 million opening weekend, the film has seen weekend-to-weekend drops of 60 percent and 54 percent.
