I figured I’d pair this one up with the **Kit Kat Ghost Toast Candy Bars** I picked up last week while I was making the rounds at Target with our daughter. If you’re like me, the Target seasonal aisles are a treasure trove of great candy finds. Halloween, Christmas, Easter — all fantastic holidays when it comes to new versions of classic candy. (When Target’s seasonal aisles are in back-to-school mode, though, that’s a total dud.) When it comes to new and updated seasonal candy, it’s hard to go wrong with M&Ms and Kit Kat. At this point, there’s a billion different M&M flavors. ### Where I found them Both the Pumpkin Pie M&Ms and the Ghost Toast Kit Kats were purchased at **Target**. ### What I paid Each of these bags were going for **$4.79**. ### My thoughts ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/f4/8b/f48be8ca-23c6-4d81-b0cf-da2fb0785911/content/images/2024/09/IMG_7082.jpeg) Look at that high-quality printing on these M&Ms. I had at first hesitated to buy the Pumpkin Pie M&Ms. Past Halloweens have given us standout flavors like Cookies & Screeem — I returned to Target several times to buy additional bags of that one — but a pumpkin pie flavor wasn’t something that I was in the mood for while perusing the seasonal aisles. I’m glad I picked them up, though. The pumpkin pie flavor is moderate to the point that Caitlin said they just taste like chocolate. (Our toddler said they tasted like “strawberries and chocolate,” but I wouldn’t trust her palate.) My first M&M instinct was that a pumpkin pie variety would have a white chocolate center, but as advertised, these M&Ms have the classic milk chocolate center. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/f4/8b/f48be8ca-23c6-4d81-b0cf-da2fb0785911/content/images/2024/09/IMG_7085.jpeg) Like a maniac, I didn’t break these Kit Kats into two bars. I ate them as one. I was less impressed with the Ghost Toast Kit Kats. I bought these with Hazel last weekend. My original plan during that trip was to buy the Witch’s Brew Kit Kats, a version that is advertised to have “marshmallow flavored créme,” but our daughter insisted that we put the bag of Kit Kats with the adorable ghost on the packaging in our cart. (She also got a Little Mermaid Lego set on that trip, so she was doing pretty well.) Despite the ghost mascot, Ghost Toast didn’t do it for me. They taste like a watered down version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and if they’re on the shelf next to the Witch’s Brew and classic Kit Kat varieties, I’m gonna skip them. The Lemon Crisp Kit Kat bars that were introduced a few Easters ago set the seasonal flavor bar extremely high for Kit Kat. ### Final verdict: BUY for M&Ms Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Pie and PASS for Kit Kat Ghost Toast Candy Bar M&Ms Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Pie can definitely find a home in a candy bowl in your kitchen not just for Halloween but also for Thanksgiving. (You *do* have a candy bowl, right?) Our daughter is probably going to finish off the bag of them by the end of this weekend. As for Kit Kat Ghost Toast, I’d suggest you skip those. If you’re interested in giving them a shot, go for a bag, try one or two and then put the rest aside for trick-or-treaters next month.
