Sure, it’s late January and a good chunk of the United States hasn’t seen temperatures above freezing in almost a week, but we need to talk to about some big news in the world of frozen treats.

Two of the world’s most popular characters are hitting grocery store freezers as **Popsicle Bluey Ice Pops** and **Popsicle Hello Kitty Ice Pops** make their debut.

I’d say that fifty percent of our daughter’s toys are *Bluey* related. Lego sets, figures, even a digital camera — *Bluey* is an absolute merchandising monster. (It’s only a matter of time before [Disney writes a big enough check to Ludo Studio](https://www.theomnicosm.com/what-does-the-future-have-in-store-for-bluey-after-the-sign/) to fully control the franchise, especially after *Bluey* notched yet [another year as the most streamed show on Disney+](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/bluey-stranger-things-2025-year-end-streaming-charts-1236487118/?ref=theomnicosm.com#recipient%5Fhashed=229e0e28c85ffbe66efe7a90af236443d3ba1f306bcd38d12734cb284ea7887e&recipient%5Fsalt=406973e011c863205e86914ba2706b05a8ddc4b8c8170c34ebab9b0a20d7af4f&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=exacttarget&utm%5Fcampaign=TV%20News%20&%20Industry&utm%5Fcontent=660868%5F01-28-2026&utm%5Fterm=17186114?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=exacttarget&utm%5Fcampaign=1769619823-TV+News+and+Ratings&utm%5Fcontent=660868%5F1-28-2026&utm%5Fid=660868).)

Unlike the Magic Claw, I have a kid and my days are not free and easy — but finding time for a review of these Bluey and Hello Kitty Popsicles? Gotta be done.

### What they cost

The suggested price on both Popsicle Bluey Ice Pops and Popsicle Hello Kitty Ice Pops is **$6.29**. (I’m not sure what the conversion is for dollarbucks.)

### My thoughts

Growing up, our family didn’t get to buy frozen treats from the ice cream truck. We always had Popsicles, ice cream and — during a very specific moment in time — Jell-O Pudding Pops. But my parents weren’t going to throw away money on marked up treats from the ice cream truck, no matter how desperately I wanted one of those Mickey Mouse treats that were plastered across the side of ice cream trucks back in the 90s.

All of this is to say that I was very excited to have two different cartoon character Popsicles in our home.

#### Popsicle Bluey Ice Pops

I opened up my box of Bluey Popsicles worried about what I might find. We’ve all seen [the meme featuring the warped Spider-Man ice pop](https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieDetails/comments/13s7szj/spiderman%5Finto%5Fthe%5Fspider%5Fverse%5F2018%5Fin%5Fone%5Fframe/?ref=theomnicosm.com), right? I was fully prepared for a Cronenbergian Bluey to be waiting for me.

Thankfully, Bluey held up very well. None of the colors had bled together and both of her eyes pretty much stayed where they were supposed to be. Those eyes did lead me to wonder when Popsicle abandoned using gumballs for the eyes of its cartoon character-based pops. (Even SpongeBob SquarePants [no longer has gumballs for eyes](https://www.popsicle.com/us/en/p/popsicle-spongebob-squarepants-bar.html/00077567002853?bvstate=pg:6/ct:r&ref=theomnicosm.com).) Oh well. As a parent, I definitely understand why you wouldn’t want to hand your 4-year-old a Popsicle with two giant choking hazards embedded in them.

It’s been a long time since I had what Popsicle officially calls a “frozen confection bar.” The texture of the Bluey Popsicles sit somewhere between your traditional Popsicle and an ice cream bar, delivering fruit flavor (in Bluey’s case, Mixed Berry) and a more solid bite.

#### Popsicle Hello Kitty Ice Pops

I’ll be honest with you — I don’t know much about Hello Kitty. I know that, mindblowingly, she isn’t a cat. She’s a little girl. (Cartoons are wild.) I also bought a Miffy doll for our daughter when I was in Los Angeles last fall, but that’s [a legally fraught subject](https://www.theguardian.com/business/2010/nov/04/cathy-infringes-miffy-copyright-case?ref=theomnicosm.com) among *Hello Kitty* fans. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy a Hello Kitty Popsicle.

The Hello Kitty Popsicles are Strawberry & Cotton Candy flavor. I can’t complain about that artificial cotton candy flavor. (You know, as opposed to the all-natural cotton candy flavor that’s sourced from organic cotton candy farms.) Like with the Bluey Popsicles, the Hello Kitty variety sits somewhere in that zone between fruity ice pop and an ice cream pop.

Between the Bluey Popsicles and the Hello Kitty Popsicles, the Bluey ones have the edge when it comes to appearance while I’d give the Strawberry & Cotton Candy flavor of the Hello Kitty variety an advantage over the Mixed Berry flavor of the Bluey ones.

Our daughter was thrilled to be able to taste test both options.
